Wedding etiquette tips for couples and guests during COVID-19

As a Gold Coast and Byron Bay wedding photographer, I have seen how weddings and events changed during 2020 with the unexpected arrival of the global pandemic caused by COVID-19. Restrictions from health authorities limited the number of guests and event cancelations went through the roof. I understand how these new rules add extra work to brides and grooms while planning their big day, and many couples are opting for intimate weddings. Here are some tips on how to handle the situation in a polite way.  air jordan 1 low flyease latex hood sit top kayak castelli gabba blow up two person kayak keyvone lee jersey NFL College Jerseys asu football jersey custom youth nfl jersey blow up two person kayak custom dallas stars jersey jordan proto max 720 oregon football jerseys custom youth nfl jersey fsu football jersey

Maybe a year ago, you were thinking about a big wedding and over 150 guests, but now you rather have a small and meaningful celebration to avoid the hassle of organizing a big event. Most of your friends and relatives will understand it and respect it, but there might be one or two who will not get why they did not receive an invitation. When handling situations of this nature, always let them know that you need to put their health first as much as you would love to have them invited.

Keep in mind that things can go the other way. Some guests could not feel comfortable attending a gathering. As you handle invitations, let your guests know that you completely understand if they decline the invitation, and they should not feel obligated to attend.

For both situations having a professional wedding photographer and videographer will be a lifesaver. You can share in detail your wedding day with those who could not attend. And you will also have an everlasting memory of a moment that will not come back. Weddings take so long to plan and go by too fast. There is nothing like reliving it through images.

Finally, as hosts, you must have clear communication with your guests. Let them know what safety protocols they need to follow if they should wear and bring a face mask. Inform them in advance if they must provide personal information for contact tracing purposes.

5 Tips to be the perfect guest during a pandemic

Being invited to a wedding in 2020 is rare. You should feel honored, but at the same time, it could be challenging. Some people are comfortable being around others and attending events; others might not. There is no right or wrong. You should feel free to skip the invitation or attend. Just keep in mind that the best way to be a good guest is to respect others and follow some simple guidelines:

  • Follow the couple’s protocols and indications.
  • Maintain a 1.5-meter distance from others.
  • Forego handshakes and kisses.
  • Let the couple know as soon as possible if you do not feel comfortable attending.
  • If you feel unwell, do not attend.

I understand how disappointing it can be to change the original vision of your wedding. Whenever you feel like it is too much to handle, remember the real meaning of the event you are planning, it is the celebration of love, the union of two souls about to start a life together. And if you are planning on saying I DO in Byron Bay or Gold Coast, do not forget to send me a message. I would be happy to be part of your love story and capture your day
